Five Things Cara Loves!

Spring is here! Here’s some things Cara the Calico loves!

Spring is an exciting time of year all over the country. The weather is warming up, birds are on the move, and plants are getting ready bloom again! For those of us with cats, all the extra outdoor wildlife activity is a little exciting. The latest addition to the HoneyCure family, Cara the Calico, has been enthralled by all the passing birds who are starting to build their nests. While she’s not being cute and looking for playtime, she can be found at the windows watching the birds.

Nonetheless, she took some time out of her busy schedule to compile a short list of some of the her favorite things. I’ve edited it a bit and taken out a few of the meows, but hopefully you can get a glimpse of some of the things she loves!

Fruitables Wildly Natural Cat Treats

One of Cara’s favorite cat treats has been Fruitable Wildly Natural Cat Treats. I’m able to pick them up from Premier Pet Supply, a local pet store. The ingredients list is small, and these treats are reasonably priced. They’re a healthier treat than most, and if Cara is a good judge of yummies, they must be tasty! I use them to reward her for good behaviors, and to do some light training with her.

Bird Teaser Wand

Cara has a few favorite toys, and one of them is a bird teaser wand. Your local pet store might have one of several different versions, but Cara’s top things to look for are quite simple: is it plush, can feathers be pulled, and can she catch it and run with it? She sounds quite simple to please, but when she really gets going she’ll play and chase the bird for a good hour before dropping for a nap. Not only that but she enjoys it so much that she’ll watch where I put it away, and then figure out how to dig it out and meow with her trophy.

Colorful Springs Cat Toys

These are clearly a mass produced and very cheap toy. However, that has not stopped Cara from keeping these in a special place in her toy stash. At first she loved the way they zoomed across the floor when she wacked them, but then they became even more fun when she figured out she could jam them under the couch and meow at me to go get them. Nowadays she’s content whacking them and watch them bounce off the walls at odd angles. One of her top recommended cat toys!

Cat Hammock

This recommendation comes from Cara’s visits with my parents’ cat, Kelsey. As soon as Cara figured out what a cat hammock was, she took to it right away! Any invention that sticks to a window, especially a window in the sun with birds, is a great invention in her book. Much to Kelsey’s dismay, Cara took some time to stretch out in her hammock on one of her recent visits.

A little bit of extra time for pets

If you’re like those of us on the HoneyCure Team, 2021 has brought plenty of things to keep you busy with. Whether you’re still working from home or if you’ve returned to work, Cara wanted to add to her list that your cat might appreciate a few extra pets as our schedules start to change again. Cara’s a big fan of morning play fights, and afternoon pets, and every time I take a break to give her some attention, she rewards me with some loud purrs and a meow. As life starts to get busy, be sure to take a little time for our furry companions, they’ll be sure to show you how much they appreciate it!
